MEP Construction

MEP is not exactly a type of project delivery such as Design-Build, but it is a style of project delivery. Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) in a building may account for more than 40% of the total construction cost. Having all three types of MEP work provided by a single contractor has numerous advantages because of areas of overlap as well as natural efficiencies. For example, the heating, ventilation and air condition system requires all three areas of work throughout a large building.

Sometimes known as “building services engineering”, MEP engineering and construction is the combination of Mechanical and Electrical engineering with Plumbing design included. The integration of these disciplines in building design and construction is natural because they overlap in many areas and physically run throughout a building. Moreover, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering and construction often accounts for more than 40% of a total building project cost.

Following is a typical breakdown of MEP engineering and construction.

At MEP Services, we provide MEP engineering and construction services with our own in-house engineering and construction teams, except when a specialist would add more value to the client’s project. With our decades of experience, we know how to take a holistic view of building design and functionality especially as it concerns energy efficiency and sustainability.
